Define interfaces in podiums and below-ground structures
For a podium, basement or retaining structure, mark wall-floor junctions, construction joints, drains and service penetrations on a drawing. State which areas may move and which coating faces can be accessed. General surface treatment and joint detailing should be coordinated within the project design.
Select flexibility and protection for the actual assembly
If the specification calls for a flexible cementitious system, describe the substrate, finish, expected movement and whether the coating will remain exposed. A product’s tested crack-bridging value does not establish that any moving joint can simply be overcoated. Include curing protection and the handover to subsequent trades.
